We're looking forward of June.

    FAREWELL SHOW   .   MAY 20th   .   HONEY

5.20.12 was our last show with Rachel Price & Dave Tiede both of whom are following their dreams out to their respective states this summer. We are now writing new music and are seeking other players to create with. Contact us if interested (especially drummers/percussionists, horn players, and singers).

We are a half-crazed, semi-dazed, lucid-dreamwalking batch of musicians out of Minneapolis looking to grab your ears and eyes. So feel free to listen up, look around, and get down; you're in good company. Crank it!

"It is clear throughout Strange Brew that Deep Soul Deities believe there is room for one more in the bustling Twin Cities hip-hop scene, and one listen proves them right. The ego-free rhymes and unassuming production, the sheer melody of the thing slides the Deities comfortably into their own niche, one that is likely to have wide demographic appeal. The music would make sense at a sweaty summer festival or a downtown cocktail party."

                                                                                              - Will McClain, GimmeNoise, City Pages

"An amazing band, combining hip hop with old school R & B and shades of the experimental and global music...great lyrics, James Brown groove and musicianship. No loops necessary (like The Roots)--the MC's have the funkiest band behind them. While they give nods to Stax, JB, Fela, Zappa, they remain uniquely contemporary. 'Deep Soul' is a spot-on name for them: they play with heart and a feel that's years deep."
